The Acer Chromebook Vero 514 embodies everything sustainable about the latest ChromeOS devices, from the parts using ocean-bound plastics to the moulded pulp packaging made from recycled natural fibres. The rugged yet gorgeous chassis is built to last using 30% post-consumer recycled plastics, which shows through in the attractive speckling and texture that still looks the part in any boardroom as much as it does in a young, environmentally-conscious startup.
Sustainable materials continue through to the backlit keycaps and the speakers on the Vero, which are made from 50% PCR plastic whilst retaining high-quality, distortion-free sounds and deeper bass utilising DTS Audio and a built-in Smart Amplifier. An OceanGlass touchpad rounds off the choice of earth-friendly materials, which has a tactile, glass-like feel while being entirely made from ocean-bound plastic.
Under the hood is up to a 12th generation Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory and 512GB of super-fast NVMe solid-state storage, as well as an energy-efficient 10-hour battery that can charge to 50% in just 30 minutes. The Acer Chromebook Vero 514 also features a Corning Gorilla Glass anti-glare touchscreen display, full-HD flare-reducing webcam, HDMI 2.0 and Wi-Fi 6E – A step up from Wi-Fi 6 that enables faster speeds and lower latencies online.
